You do you, I'll do me.
Take your own advice bud. You got your panties in a wad over "people making jokes about safety". So yes, please, you do you and I'll then do me. Works both ways.

I can die every day going to work getting in a car wreck caused by overzealous "I am someone special" a$$holes on the road, I sure ain't gonna break a sweat about bar oil mist!

Everyday's extreme summer sun can kill me FFS!

Each to their own - do whatever feels right to You!
If You feel contempt wearing a N95 face mask while bucking firewood logs, please do so!

Stay safe, cheers.

I think the point is there are much worse things to worry about than bar oil mist. Ya know, skin cancer fir instance. Also, arisols are not stopped by most masks. If you can smell it, you are breathing it in. Not saying bar oil gets misted enough to be considered arisol but 2 stroke exhaust is. I recommend a battery saw and canola oil for you.
Yeah not wrong about that skin cancer chit I've got a fresh 4inch scar on my throat where they cut a nasty growing one out few weeks ago.

As far as the original topic. You boys be trippin on some bar oil.

use any oil you can get cheap.....

ive run plenty of automatic transmission oil too

it’s still a lubricant. Hydraulic oil basically

as long as the oil pump will pump it.

I saw a comment about not using automatic transmission fluid. Not understanding that one? Why not.

I read somewhere, a few years back, that Australia has the highest rate of skin cancer in the world. Sure hope they got it all bud.

They have friction modifiers in them to promote grip for the clutches to help them not slip.

I'd love to be able to travel. My brother lived in Hong Kong for a decade or so.....and has been all over the world. Me.....I'm sorta pinned down with the cattle.

The only thing I would not use is WMO. Waste Motor Oil.....it not only has contaminates in it but some of those contaminants are metal filings from engine wear. As far as ATF, it's a little thin and not tacky. Not bad in the winter time though. What I do like about ATF is it is high in the detergents percentage. I sometimes run a little ATF with regular bar oil in the dead of winter.
