Best cheap ultrasonic cleaner.

What's would be a good place to get an ultrasonic cleaner for less than $100 that will both do a good job and last longer than a year, or till my dad knocks it off the bench like my last one.

HF. The bigger one is around 80 bucks. I've used the crap out of mine. Haven't killed it yet.

I started out with a HF model and used it a lot with no issues. Then I started looking for a bigger model. I got excited when I won what looked to be a good sized used medical unit on beat a while back for around $100.

It came and I was disappointed in the size (which wasn't listed). It turns out thT its at nest 1/2 gallon. It's perfect for carbs.

I do like the heat option on HF units, but i hate always having to tend the thing

My hf one worked great got hot pretty quick, and actually seemed to get stuff clean. But I didn't like the 8 min cycles and it wasn't deep enough to clean a whole cylinder without flipping it a couple times.

Pretty sure the one we have is harbor freight as well. Works fine to me.

I kill the plastic HF ones in about six months, but I use the hell out of em. I started looking on eBay for better models, and found that they aren't that pricey anymore.

That right there is a good idea. Once you realize how handy they are you start cramming all kind of stuff in there. Case halves,jugs,Holley four barrels,firearms you name it.

If you just get a big one you can keep it filled with water and put the carbs in glass jars with whatever cleaning agents you want to use. No need in having two. That being said, I have two, but the second one kind of fell in my lap. I have to make a basket for it someday...

I clean carbs in small jars and put other items in the tank to clean them at the same time. I don't have to worry about the carb getting contaminated by the gunk from the other parts that way.

Glass jar is how I always cleaned mine when I had a working cleaner. But two would make more sense to me. Alot quicker to heat a small amount of water for a small part than to heat a big tank for the same one. Just seems wasteful to me unless you plan on cleaning the whole lot of stuff in addition to the carb.
