I looked into getting an air gun to plink with
Then I seen the price on the ones big enough to take small game
That was before the ammo shortage, so someday it may make sense

Geez, and here I'm tickled to hit a red squirrel in the head at 50 feet.

We bought a decently powerful PCP last year. If all else fails it will take a turkey, maybe even a deer, with a well placed shot. So far I just zeroed the scope and not much else. I have a hand pump, but it does get tiring, and then I have to slow my breathing back down to shoot accurately at 75+ yards. This thing could put out both eyes on a squirrel with a single .25 slug. I'd like to get an electric compressor this year so I can enjoy it more. Mostly we bought the rifle to use it in case a coyote or something comes around our chickens or alpacas. Some day I want to buy a PBBA 20 for dealing with critters at close range, closer than 25 feet I mean. Our rifle has a 4-12 scope so not that great for close up stuff.
