Does anybody know if a three rivet roller tip like what cannon sells will fit on an older Oregon bar that takes this style of tip?

Based off of what Cannon shows on there site, no. The rivet pattern is the reverse of the Oregon pattern. @Definitive Dave has quite the roller nose collection, so he would be able to elaborate.

I actually never compared the two patterns, I just knew they were both 3 rivet lol, that's what I get for asking questions without doing research

Thanks guys!

I would hate to count the number of chainsaw bars that have been thrown away only because the tips gave up. Almost all of these bars could have been saved with tip replacements, redressed, and used for many more hours or operation.

Or the loops of chain that have been tossed, because they were "dull blades"...

We have park maintenance employees that use ZTR mowers and the "boss" throws away the dull blades and buys new ones rather than sharpen them. He spend hundreds of dollars on new mower blades rather than sharpen used ones with either a grinder or a good file. Disgusting.

The local tree service in town that I moonlight with doesn't seem to like to sharpen chains. I can't complain though. They put a new RS on and I snag the old one. Don't think I'll have to buy any more chains as long as they're in operation. Now the chain fund is going to be put in the chain grinder fund. Some of them need a lot of work.

I have one of those Oregon bars at home with a few new replacement tips but I was thinking if I could convert it to a roller it would look really sweet on one of my 10 series

for firewood, display or racing?
If I had one for my 125 it would be part of my "spank my brothers 084 through a cant" setup and then I'd get a longer standard tip bar for bigger trees.

If I had one for a 10 series it would be for looks and occasional cookies or light firewood, lord knows I have enough 10 series stuff I could dedicate one saw to put a roller nose on for decoration only

when you decide what chain and sprocket and length you will use on the Spanky-125, let me know and I will help you get set up with a bar that meets your needs.

Sounds like a great idea to me! I have a saw that I'm waiting on parts for and hopefully the mods I'm making on It will bring it to life.

After I get that one squared away and running well I'm going to start going through my 125.

And I'm digging it's new nickname spanky

FWIW nearly every loop of Stihl branded chain I own came from the tool bins of my buddys bucket truck .He's a good filer but he doesn't repair broken cutters etc .He's very loyal to Stihl products, saws ,chain .oil, everything .The 281 Husky he did have he gave to me and it's in the shed, runs good .

Yall know there's a big debate on weather a roller nose is actually any faster than a sprocket nose .Just depends on who you talk to .
Now those what have Mac 125's don't get the bright idea you can put a huge drive system on them and they will pull it well because unless it's highly modified like in Mc 101 with a lot of soup .I mean a lot of soup .Been there and done that, doesn't work . 8 pin .404 they do well even on a 48" bar but hang a 10 pin on it and it falls down .It isn't a bike saw now no matter what anybody says .
