Yeah, the 0.058 is a Husqvarna special. I like it because its a little bit beefier than the 0.050, which I run on smaller chain for the 50cc saw... but it isn't as beefy as the 0.063, which I think is just German over-engineered and heavier than necessary.

By the way, you can't mix and match the chains, and there are only certain 10-pack sizes that are on sale at the moment. For example, I can get 38RC (full chisel) 60 dl (16"), and 38rc 68 dl (18"), but can't get 38rc 72 dl (20") or 38rc 84 dl (24") on sale. On the other hand, for semi chisel I can only get 38sc 72 dl 10-pack on sale.

All woodland pro I ever bought was Carlton. Good stuff. Never have I ever seen a loop of Carlton that was soft or easy to file. My favorite chain. Mine is stamped Carlton on the side. If it says a1 on it. It’s still Carlton.

Believe Carlton used to be the top choice in race chain as well

A1 is, I believe, Carlton language for 3/8” 050, A2 is 3/8” 058,
and A3 is 3/8” 063.
LM is full chisel and EP is semi. I’m sure im missing something, but that’s what I’ve found.
All Woodland Pro chain in 3/8” I’ve seen has been Carlton. I asked Bailey’s in an online chat about it, and they confirmed it was all Carlton in 3/8”. The other sizes they told me could be other manufacturers. This was more than a year ago, so things could easily have changed since then.

Carlton 3/8 is nice chain after it’s filed properly, they seem to use a more relaxed/less agressive tooth angle and lower rakers than oregon or stihl chain interestingly. Cuts slower out of box than oregon or stihl. After I change the tooth angle they cut a lot better and it’s harder than both stihl/oregon chain. Lasts a long time.

I like Carlton, but for me the metal used is like titanium. Very hard to sharpen, but it does seem to hold an edge well. To me, Carlton feels harder than Stihl. Oregon being the softest.

If your using oregon files they are too soft and get dull fast filing carlton or stihl chain. Pferd files much more agressive and remove lot of material fast. My favorite files.

I’ve used it side by side. It’s what I prefer. Certainly won’t knock the stihl either

Haven’t tried carlton .325 but have tried stihl/oregon. For .325 stihl rs or rm is the best imo.

Carlton semi needs a file job from hell to get it going. For sure. Stihl makes great chain. I just hate the price

For 3/8 stihl cuts fastest out of box but oregon or carlton can be made to cut as fast with a swipe of a file... plus it seems to be cheaper.

The new exl seems to cut a little better out of box than lgx and is a bit harder. A improvement. I can too improve it with just a raker adjustment and filing.

325 .063 is K3 on the drivers Jeff

K1 IS .325 .050
K2 is .325 .058
K3 is .325 .063 I have used a load of those on Stihl saws at work.

I have a loop of K1L, .325 050 full chisel, I square filed. Seems to be fine.
