You look well prepared :). When I'm packing saw gear for work I take 1/2 saws & polesaw, when ya going cutting with your mates you stuff as much h.p as you can fit in truck tray so you can sleep better knowing the next day no one will outsaw you without a fight. Hybrids, sleeper saws, ported saws with sticker removed & stock looking race chains all hidden up your sleeve. Sounds like fun!

I never have to worry about that when I go cut with a few guys. I do all of their saw work

I like Brews saw line up, every saw has a different story and some were pretty ratty when he first got them. But with some hard work & shared knowledge he's turned them into saws you would happily own. Pro saws are really expensive in Oz & many folks spend a small fortune owning a line up like that.

i have been busy building saws for myself and others but have not been able to get out and test them.

I have permission to go cut up some trees on a property close to home and he has asked if I can take down a couple dead ones he doesn't have gear big enough to tackle, one tree is almost 5 feet thick.

If the timber is good enough we plan to make split posts so I fitted a short hard nose up to the 090 for ripping the logs

A couple mates who are also big saw enthusiasts are coming to help/play.

Will be getting plenty of photos and videos so I thought I would start a thread

Here is the line up I will be taking

View attachment 40571

My brothers rebuilt 12mm 044 - stock
My 10mm 044 - ported
My rat rod junkyard parts 064 - ported
My 066 - ported running a 288 piston and a square filed chain @Deets066 did for me.
A mates 394 I have rebuilt and lightly ported
2100CD - lightly ported
090AV - stock wall rattler.

I can't wait!!!!!
Great saws there Tony

I am absolutely itching to get these saws dirty
I have been so held up with being made redundant, starting a new job and a massive shutdown that had me working 60 to 70 hr weeks for a month, Ive not cut anything up since September
I am itching to see the videos Tony should make for some great viewing.Any idea what sort of wood you will be cutting my friend

Sure are expensive. That pic is the reward for hard work.

Pretty funny in my case, more $$ tied up in just my saws sitting in the back, than my beloved Subaru work ute.

Thanks mate :-)
I really enjoy using something that was a busted piece of rubbish that I have turned into something that runs like a scalded cat.
They may not be pretty but pretty don't cut any faster!

I know a lot of you have watched the transformation of of these saws in threads I have started.
will set my camera up on a tripod and get some videos weather pending. Its meant to rain tomorrow at some stage

not 100% sure just yet
He told me there are a lot of trees down that he has cut into 3 meter lengths and also a couple he wants us to take down which will be fun as he said they are dropping dead branches.
I have packed my hard hat

mate,if you've ever stepped onto a nest of them, its no joke.
Happened to me a couple of times while felling, concentrating on the tree and the dangers overhead, not looking where youre standing.
next thing you know, right in the middle of a back release bore cut, they're all over you stinging like mad.
My "mate" just about pissed himself laughing, watching me do the hootchie-cootchie chainsaw dance, and trying to get the nasty little nippers out from under my chaps.

Bull ants in Australia can make a bloke take all his clothes off in public no matter who is watching if found climbing up his trouser leg.
At over 1 inch long, super aggressive (will chase you down) and a sting that is as close as I can imagine it would be to be shot...... Yeah.

There were spiders the size of the palm of you hand scurrying from that tree in numbers. A couple of times I had to brush them off the saw and would pick them up on a stick and move them so they didn't get squished.

That by the way was my first tree felling.
I was very pleased with it.

Todays timber was dry dead stringy bark.
Not the hardest timber on offer in the area but very hard non the less. Makes great fire wood.

I trimmed off the top of the stump to leave it neat and we used the land owners tractor to roll back the main trunk section.
We had a bit of a discussion on weather to cut it up into split posts or leave it to slab.
We decided to go with split posts
