HELP! Anyone use CBN wheels for grinding chain?

Wow first I have ever seen that, damn if it was $100 I’d buy it, 300, little steep…
Has anyone used one of these or know someone who has????

300g? I can't imagine that on a chain...burn city. I think the Batltics I have are 80 and the Baltic diamond wheel (carbide chains) is 100. I tried the diamond on a chain once...it works but I had to be careful or I blued the cutters.

The Diamond brand that I have is much finer than the Foley. I haven't noticed any problems cutting with the chains sharpened on the Foley even though the finish is clearly not as fine.

Yes if you look at the link he posted it’s supposedly a square wheel for the regular “rounds ground grinders….
Yes if you don’t just take a tiny amount off of will cause problems…

Well, I contacted Baltic and asked
They don't advertise their grit.
The 300g wheel for" Mr. David, which is participating in forum thread as well."
was special order.

I haven't seen anyone mention the UF-Sharp 80 grit wheels sold on Amazon. I bought a 1/8" wheel for grinding .325 chain on my Super Jolly. I really like it and I'm going to buy another in 3/16". It cuts quickly, tooth stays cool, and it's very precise. Prior to this, green Tecomec wheels were my favorite. The CBN wheel cuts about as well, but is cleaner and does not require regular dressing.

The UF-Sharp wheel did not come with a cleaning stick. I might try putting some Slick Stick on the abrasive as recommended by Woodturners Wonders, and I'll probably just clean it with PB Blaster and a brush. I clean my chains in Super Clean before grinding, so hopefully it won't require a lot of maintenance.

The pictured cutter is from a Oregon Speedcut .325 NK Chain; it's small. The grind might look a little rough on the photo, but I'm sure it'll still cut fine.
