Anybody dye plastic chainsaw parts?

I went out to the garage today while the wife was out to transfer the dye into milk jugs. Rinsed the pot out in the laundry tub came pretty clean. Ran to the kitchen to wash it and put it away. Damn she came home early. So I play it off and just start washing it and she asks where was that pot? I say oh out in the garage. She said would you like to explain...I say oh I used some Rit clothes dye to dye some plastic parts! The look I got was priceless!

Looks good! Wish I would have looked into that before I painted mine. It's holding up well though.

The dye definitely looks like it works. I have had good luck with Krylon Fusion paint with clear over top of it on plastics in the past as well.

The Valspar Tractor & Implement Husqvarna orange works very well also

I just ordered some of this Rit liquid dye (black) stuff from eBay. I gotta try this. P A Dans hybrid saw looks sweet. Now I want mine to look just as good or even better.

Made two cuts last Monday when she came alive. It was 9* out so I made the cuts and ran inside to the wood burner! Working a lot of hours the last week but I finish up in the morning. I have five days off so a video will be coming soon!

My new plastics showed up today. I'm still waiting for the dye to arrive.
I was curious to find out how deep the dye penetrates the plastic so when I dye my plastic I'll throw a couple pieces from some junk plastics in with them. I'll let everyone know what I find out.

Well we finally got some good weather and temps hit 65 today! Got out the hybrid and it was joined by Sawmikazie's hybrid. I only had a small peice of my test log left and some chunks that I could noodle.
