For your information I ordered part number 501 42 65-02 for my fuel line/vent line. I also ordered part 580457501 grommet for my 55 Rancher. I was curious if the grommet would work in place of the more expensive fuel line, and now that they are in hand, I'm sure they will. So if you are in need of a fuel line or vent line for an old Husqvarna saw these grommets will work in place of the original lines.

I'm not so certain if WD 40 will work for leaks or not .It did when they used propane for a propellant but they might use something else these days
Having said that usually when a saw revs like that it's an air leak some place in the intake tract between the carb and the block .On a Stihl it was normally the boot .Husqvarna ,I'm not sure how they are put together .

It did in March of this year.

Unfortunately I don't have those tools. They would be helpful. I will have to look at investing in them.
It doesn't take many tools to pressure test a saw, a little rubber hose, a T fitting, a pressure gauge, and a blood pressure bulb.

Got it cleaned up a bit better, replaced 2 anti-vibe elements, replaced the fuel vent, put some lock tight on the carb manifolds bolts, and got it all back together. 0718171222.jpg 0718171223.jpg 0718171623.jpg

I finally braved the heat long enough to shoot a quick video. It now has a 24" bar and new chain. No air leak this time.
