Chop saws are belt drive, so I'm gonna say it's for a chop saw.
Or, could it have been a circular saw blade with a belt?
the inside of the starter has some very fine wood dust. No concrete dust like I’ve seen in the hot saws I’ve worked on.

Is there any chance of an air filter in the stock that crosses over to an Echo 50v?
I think that Mr heimannm may be looking for one over on the Echo thread.

any idea what they look like? I have a few odd filters but most are the regular cartridge type for 80-90s saws. That Echo looks a lot older

anything on this saw that would work? in my area...

Going from what I remember seeing back in the day.
My best guess would be that it's a stiff flocked or felt type probably something made out of material like the cs302 filter.
Usually the filter had the cover stud though the middle and the the edges of the cover pinned the filter around the perimeter.

Found a John Deere version of it here.

hmm, Looks like He might also need a bracket that goes across the the carb and provides the center hole for the filter cover to screw into?

Also found an ebay link selling a filter and cover. for an idea of what it looks like.

Forgive me for not knowing more, just hoping I might help heimannm find a filter is all.

I'd be interested in another 695 full wrap handle & air filter cover if you have one.

Does anyone know if there's any other coil options for this one.....IMG_20240217_151305.jpgIMG_20240217_151324.jpg
Been sitting behind all the other project saws I have, and this thread reminded me of it. Seems hard to find much info on. Apparently the same as a 500 other than the handle?
Everything seems good except coil, but haven't managed to find one

You have a coil part #?
500's pop up on ebay.
A 446 might be in the same family.

A little Google foo says 500/451/415/416 is the family of that Shindaiwa.
I wouldn't be surprised if some of the older Echo saws wouldn't interchange also if you had a part # you could cross reference the #'s.

Wow, I can’t find any info on that model. Shindaiw’s manual section doesn’t list it and the parts sites don’t either. I have a contact at Shindaiwa so will call.
Cool looking saw. I’d guess late 70s, 80s

👍 the coil doesn't have any numbers on it other than a 6 and a K that you can see on top. But here's a picture of it...

Seems like a good saw other than spark. All the screws/fasteners are original and has great compression.

So, a single piece coil?
most of what I have is for 300/360; 575-580; 680-695 and 757
all but the 577 are 3-pc coils

that sure looks like a 500. Id bet parts would fit. There are a few 500pts on pts-tree and Replacement parts
ill look in my boxes for the echo pt, 22128-71602 which is the main coil

well, no joy 🤨

found pts for the 550, 575, 577 though :p
