First of several up and running :D

I need to figure out a better tank breather...leaks gas .
I made my own fuel line with a grommet and yellow. Works fine.
All the gas lines on this saw had shrunk over 20yrs of non use and wouldn't seal at all.
I'll order some oe for the other builds as it seems they are available.

Just wanted to mention I used Stihl fuel lines with built in grommet in the past with great results (fit better than oem).
I hate the 2 piece Shindaiwa used.
Stihl 048 works great on the 49mm 695.

So, oe for a 048?
The one that was in there was 1-pc like some early husky and Stihl.
What have you used for a breather?

Luckily, all my Vent tubes were good.
OEM gas lines pretty much suck & all mine were mush.
Might be able to mod a fuel tube to a vent tube.
Not sure.

I’m going to use a generic stihl vent with my own tubes.
May use the Pro-line fuel lines, had good luck with theirs I. The past. No so with Dukes

So, the generic eBay tank vent works perfectly.
I’ve tried several combinations of bar size, 7 or 8t rims, etc and still haven’t found a good one. Comp is still around 170. Not great, but, not bad.
The saw cuts well but really slowly. I think I will eventually just tear it down and do some mild porting (can’t do much with the Shindaiwa cylinders as there is just no meat in them. Grind a tad too much and you can blow through the wall.
LRB has pistons and I ordered a couple of the 49mm to play with. I have nos 45s. Frankly, there is no reason not to upgrade the 5 series 45mm to a 49. The top ends are interchangeable. I still have this odd 51mm jug and a 757 piston that may well make a nice frankinsaw :p. They will bolt up on the 575/577 case just fine.
