I measured from the base to the squish band in 4 spots, all within 0.001". This one was a lucky one.

Did you check them against the bore? Just curious

Lucky Shaun is good with metals & stuff...that's a tricky deal. Saving a maxed out 064 is looked upon favourably by the saw Gods.

I’ve seen more cracked cases in 064s than any other pro saw. There’s quite a few potential reasons for it, but anyone building one up (or selling one) should carefully look it over.

I think ALL of the saws that I currently own are saws that other people had given up on. So in other words, abandoned problem saws! Lol

Of course we didn’t pay $600 plus a “port job” to have ‘em in our arsenal, though.

Almost had this last crack chased out with the welder... just putting the finishing cap on the weld when I ran out of argon. I'll hit the welding supply shop today.
