Wondering if you guys have had this same issue with the line: I put new line and filter on dad's saw, started fine for me. I didn't cut with it.
Yesterday my dad used it for the first time, said it was hard to start and would quit when he touched the trigger.
I noticed it was kinda flat when I got it, but put it on anyway. Seems that on one of the bends coming from the tank, it was restricting fuel so much that it wouldn't run.
I bought it from the site sponsor, and
I'm in no way shape or form knocking Bruce or the store. Just wanting to know if others have had the issue and if it's just a bad batch of line.
Maybe @Gentleman could check into it.

Again, no knocks on hlsupply, I'm not worried about the cost just hoping it could be checked out so others don't have trouble.

I have had that issue before. If they seem flattened out I have carefully wrapped them around a broom handle opposite the flat spots and heated them with a heat gun to make them round again. I wouldn't expect to do that with new stuff but sometimes when you at the bottom of the spool chit happens and I'm cheap. So I find a work around. Good luck.

I already replaced it with Oregon yellow line(tygon). Nice tip on that flat line, but it's so cheap I probably won't reuse it unless it's an emergency.

I've noticed all the saws, blowers and whips at work got yellow Oregon lone on them. They are all hard as a rock outside the tank and semi soft inside the tank in the fuel. Even while hard they will work good as long as nothing bumps the line and cracks it. I do not like how hard it gets and non e gas is not a option. I finally got them to buy a spool of echo black line.

Do you think it's the ethanol that hardens the line? I only use e free premium and mix my dad's fuel for him so it shouldn't be a problem. Hope so anyways.
Tygon is all they have at my local stihl/husky dealer.

I think it's a combo of the ethanol and the cheaper yellow line. I've used tons of echo line and all gets used with ethanol with very little line problems. Hell I got black line going on 7 years and I do nothing special. BTW work uses redmax red bottle sun blend oil.

I'd keep a eye on it. I'd almost bet even e free you may see it get hard in a couple months.

I'd bet the cheap Chinese tygon is the kind that gets brittle. The Oregon line that I bought today says "made in usa" right on it, so that's a plus.

I had this happen w/ OEM husky line (from factory) on my 372.
Dealer had said something about a batch of line from factory having issues and more confident in oem replacement line.
Since new OEM replacement line when in no problem.

Yeah, I just bought some of that echo line and put it in a husky 50. Its a little harder to put through the hole but so far so good. Saw runs great and no problem with kinks. I've seen some of that tygon line that as soon as you've got to remove it from the carb it just crumbles. I always use OEM line of some sort when it comes to fuel lines. Bought some Chinese 290 lines a while back thinking I would save some money....had to replace it with OEM after all. So I'd rather spend a little bit more money to have little worries

Tygon is a brand name used by the company who developed it...if genuine it should be good . Its not cheep in the uk ,but iv found it to be no problem so far.

The guy next door bought a 10mm 044 off ebay a few years ago. It had an AM fuel line and filter that collapsed. He stole the old fuel line from my broken 044 tank holder and used it and it is still working fine. That is an OEM fuel line over 22 years old!

The one thing I have to add to this is that the aftermarket molded Stihl fuel
lines are crap. All of them have seen are complete garbage. The saws I have seen the most difficulty with are 024, 026, 029-390. The way the fuel line has to bend around to get to the carb port always seems to kink the aftermarket lines. They are all too thin as well.

Well guys, when I put the Oregon yellow line on with a new filter(again) the saw fired up on the first pull and hasn't missed a beat. Much stronger line.

Funny that it ran fine when I first put on the am black line, maybe the fuel and/or heat collapsed it the rest of the way. I didn't like how easy it would squeeze down to nothing, but put it on anyway...lesson learned I guess.
The second pic above is just me putting very very light pressure on the line.

I imagine it would work ok if it was a straight shot from tank to carb with no bends, but I've yet to work on a saw like that.

I don't have a lot of confidence in Chinese or off shore rubber of course who knows who makes the OEM stuff ?

I tried a couple Farm-tec fuel hoses a couple years ago , didn't last long .

I'll go for the black Echo in future, it's a bit more thick compared to Husky oem line, bit it will work om most huskies, I can't remember Echo # number though, something around 5.5 mm would be ideal!
Echo # 90015 or # 13370 has ID 3mm OD 5.7mm
Husky fuel line cost in Norway is just ridicilous bur those shipping cost from US is just ridicilous as well, shipping cost is almost the same as 25 ft roll cost

Either Oregon or Echo for me
There is to much China Tygon out there.
Oregon 07-264/256 ID 0.117 OD 0.211 is the best match for most Huskies, it cover the last 242/254/262/346/357 and so on
