I believe those flags with the triple cross bars were intended to go with the full wrap.
Makes sense. It came with a full wrap. I appreciate the info.🍻
$12? 😳
So, allowing for 4x middlemen markup, that thing must have left China costing around $.50
Crazy how cheap they are. Had good luck with last chicom wt194 copy (026 carb).....Now you just gotta hurry up and wait for parts....like me😁

Anyone know the part# for the correct brake handle that goes with the wrap handle saws? I don't see any listing in the IPLs for the 288s

or, anyone have one for sale or trade?

Both 281 and 288 throttle lever show the same part numbers on the parts list.Screenshot_20240320-105944.png

Thanks,, will see if it will just move over.
Got the saw with no history,,, it just doesnt want to see any more wood.
Its the one that someone had beat on the start dogs (guess trying to remove flywheel) i didnt notice, tried to start it and dog came apart thru the starter cover,,shrapnel (Dog and flywheel fins),,,replaced flywheel then the blue wire came off the igniton,, cant fix it,,replaced that and so on. Carb was/is bad failed 2 trips to the cleaner and a kit,,,

Well, tried one of Duke’s 288 oil pumps…won’t fit 😬
At first I thought the thin o-ring just needed to seat. Nope., pulled it and still not fitting. Then noticed the little 6mm o-ring was doubled, and, the pin was a good 2mm proud. Fixed that and tried again. It was better but still wouldn’t seat flush, even without the thin o-ring. something isn’t lining up.
Measured the diameter of the section that seats into the bearing seat. Within a couple thousandths of oe and well under the bearing seat diameter.
Stumped.
Through the old one in…fits as it should.

At least the oiler gear fits, very snug, but fits :p
They set me another...same problem...too big a diameter. 😒1000003571.jpg1000003569.jpg1000003572.jpg1000003568.jpg1000003599.jpg

I put a 288 carb on 181 and IIRC I had to swap the throttle shaft because the crank cases are slightly different and the arm didn't fully engage. I put the 181 arm on a 288 tank.

Correct, the hole for the throttle arm is in a different location on the 181 as it used a short steel link instead of the contact arm and roller setup of the 281/288.
