All Things 288XP

This is my runner 288xp, Andy built this saw as a high top, I changed it to a low top and put all new covers on it, it is currently @rattler being ported along with a clone 281xp, sorry I don't have pics of it yet, I pick them up at the end of January. He does all my 2 series saws

Sorry josh not tryin to hijack your thread. This is a 288 thread but theres been mention of 281 so i thought I'd throw a little 181 at it cuz they're almost identicle. I thought some of you would like seeing this NIB OEM 181 thin ring top-end. I dont know if I'll ever use it but its never leaving my pile of parts. Its just cool to hold new 181 stuff. Kind of a crappy pic but...

I don't think Ive ever seen a clutch cover for Husq with raised letters- Sweet!

Not a hijack at all Dale, wouldn’t matter if it was lol. I’d hang on to that P&C too. Can’t be hardly any of them around anymore.

Those lower transfers look huge. Large ports for a stock saw it seems

This is my best running 288. I put the v-stack and uni dual stage on it. It ran good before that but it runs super good now. Previous owner took it to alaska a couple times wearing a 36" 063. Now it only wears a 28" 050. I'll try to drag up a video.

I'm new at this copy and paste thing so I hope its the video i think it is. If it is that 288 is wearing a 28" full comp round file chain in a 36" or so blow down ponderosa pine. They cut like butter but the saw is pulling full bar wood.

That’s what I love about the 288. It lugs down but just keeps going. Nice running Saw Dale. Maybe I’ll put a V-stack on my 281 build, get some of the “woop” sound

Any time Mike, I’ll be on here throughout the day. I’m gonna get started on my 254 today, just tear down, cleaning and inspection. Gotta wait til after the new year to order parts
