3/8" snap on air ratchet.
The tab that keeps the head from turning is broken. It is down on power and could use a rebuild. Does work, just not at full potential.

1/4" I/R air ratchet.
Tab that keeps head from turning is broken.
The detent ball that retains the socket is missing.
It is slightly down on power and could use a rebuild. Does work, Just not at full potential.

Both were used in a flat rate production shop, so they've got some hours. I do oil the crap out of my air tools though.

The asking price on one or both is that the recipient makes a donation to either one of their local veterans organizations or a national one such as wounded warrior project, which can be determined by themselves along with their donation. All I ask is actually following through on it.
I will take care of shipping to the lower 48.

With Memorial Day upon us, I thought I'd make an off-the-wall offer, 2 questions first.
Do you know the ballpark costs to get these back into reliable working condition, and is this something you can do?
Second, is there a high school or Vo-Tech auto repair classroom facility near you?

If both are possible, I'd be willing to cover the rebuild costs plus make a WWP donation honoring the veteran of your choice if the functional tools could be given to someone young that needs them in your area, hopefully removing the need for shipping costs.
I'll be making a WWP donation either way, but just thought this might be a way to put them to use in your community.

Please do understand, I'm not familiar with air tool rebuilds so I'm not making light of the efforts that may be required. I've rebuilt lots of brushed electric motors, etc, but never air tools. If this is way out of line, please let me know and I apologize in advance.

I can't recall what I was quoted by the Snap on dealer on a rebuild to be honest.
I can find out. I believe turn around is about 3 weeks and I'd have to pay for it because I sent it in.

I think a new head kit for the I/R was like $30 off Amazon. Not sure if vanes, etc are.

Rebuilding them is something I could do but I have a billion other things going on and was just looking to get a few bucks into a charity and these into someones hands who might be able to use them while doing something with these vs sitting in a drawer or just tossed in the scrap bin

Yeah, OK, that turned into way more hassle on your end than I expected, thanks for the response. If you are willing to check on the Snap on rebuild I would be happy to reimburse if you are willing, and if kids could benefit from it. If not, no problem here, it was just an idea.
I'm up to my arse in obligations between work, home and old people so I get it, spare time is short. If nothing else I'll certainly still make the donation, and maybe someone else will follow thru with the your initial offer. I'm not a daily user, and have the only air ratchet I'll ever need.
It's a good thing you're doing!
