I may have to trade for a 562 with bad bottom and try pulling the stuffers and play with port timing.

It took all day to upload, but here is a video of the 562, 20" bar buried, noodling Walnut. It sounds like the chain is a little to aggressive, but I think that wavering sound is because the chain is missing a few cutters in row.

That D36 is really looking good Chad! Is the other one 2-10?

I put a few more tanks of gas through this 562 today. It's still putting a smile on my face when I run it!
I tried to id it via serial # off acres and best I could tell it would be an early super 10-10 right hand. But your the guru you would just have to check it out. That D-36 has a piece of aluminum or something screwed into the back of the chain cover.

The 1-43 cover will fit, but not 250. The black cover and full wrap handle are what id the d-36 for me. The other one does look like a 10-10.

Nice build AWOL, I have pulled stuffers on a few saws and have been impressed, most stuffers are running loose if you check them. I do believe it gained torque with added volume. Put a pic of case where the stuffers wobble.

They're sporty little saws.

My BIL Bert, Is a tree guy in CT and I ran his 562 last summer bucking some black locust on a big take down job he had while In was visiting and he also had a Stihl 362,,,,

I could not believe the power that husky made!!!! it ran circles around the Creamsicle,,, actually it was like driving a Porsche 911 compared to a stock volkswagon

Both the upper trans and stratos were widened, and strato timing was increased by grinding the piston. I also raised the exhaust side piston skirt, to help open up the lowers a bit.

The actual intake port was left untouched, I only removed a bit of casting flash and smoothed things out a bit.
How much and exactly where did you grind on the piston???, obviously to match how much you opened/widened the transfers????

Your pic is a bit blurry

I notice the 562 cylinder employs a staggered transfer port layout where the mains and auxiliary transfers open at different stages. Would love to know Allen's thought's on this and weather its a key piece of the pie when it comes to the 562 power house. Also weather they are both angled in the same direction or if they are differently angled? It seems you have had good success in widening the both uppers, did you make any changes to the port roof angles?

I only ground about .025 off the top of the strato tunnel in the piston, where it meets with the trans port. I'll try to get some better pictures of the next one.
cool I just picked up a clean little 550 that came with a new OEM TOP End that I have to install,,, May as well give it a little port massage before I delete the gasket and make the muffler breathe easier,,,, I will be looking for the pics Thanks this is a very cool tred on a very cool site,,,,,,, way better being over here and being called brand X!!!!!

One set is the strato ports. The cylinder is just a dual transfer setup.
