*s-word the chain off, helps when you tighten the bar nuts all the way.

Broke the adjuster pin right off. Lol

Try some full circle ty wraps. Outboards use them. The back of the lock is curved so it puts pressure on the fuel hose under it.
Regular ty wraps pinch the line causing a leak.

Gotta love the deep blisters and inflamed knuckles. My fingertips looked like 20 grit a few days after the last one I spent hours and hours on.
