No RevBoost on the 572?
I was hoping it would be a oversized 562.
22" b/c would be a good base line bar for the 572XP
I'm not sure if it has it or not, but my 562 has a bit better throttle response. It does have a well opened muffler though, which DID make a good difference. Just a different character to it. Like the difference between a 327 vs a 396.

I was going to say, the weight of the 462 powerhead would likely make it well suited for a 20" bar, which is the most popular bar most of the Tree Guys around here use on a regular basis. Most of them have Top Handle saws, their main saws (70-80cc) with 20" bars, and large saws with 36" bars for the big stuff (often accompanied with crane rental).

If all you want is a 20” b/c to cut 14”-16” pine, or whatever grows most abundantly in Europe, does a 70cc saw even make sense? Wouldn’t you be better off with a 60cc 560xp or 555 saw? Or a 565 (not 572xp)?
The 562xp cuts like a stock 70cc saw anyway. And the new 572xp improves on the 372xp power and (from memory) punches like my 372xpw @ 75cc. A 20” bar? Really?

I know America is the last to get invited to the table, but with the more diverse trees here, a 20” lightweight laminated bar on a 70cc pro saw makes as much sense as a screen door on a submarine.

Spruce is probably the most popular tree for forestry in Europe. However, hardwoods are also rather popular as well. So, you'll see 20" bars on 70cc power heads because they simply are faster. But that's besides the point. The more options we have in bars, the better. With a 20" lightweight bar, STIHL stands to start mass marketing them(and their costs here are rather reasonable). This means their cost for other lightweight bars in other sizes will likely come down as well. We only stand to benefit.

From what I saw the 572 looks to ballance a 20" bar nicely. I would run a 20-24" on the 572 with the 20" bar being used most of the time. I think the 572 will sell very well. Power and weight/handling are important but reliability is a big deal for professional use I haven't heard any issues with the 572's If the 462 has issues and the 572 doesn't stihl could lose a lot of money. In the us market the professional 70cc class is big volume and there's only 2 main brands being purchased.

I can't really say for sure either way on this one Willard.

But, the 565 and 572 do use different coils, and that leads me to think that the 572 might have rev boost. But again, this is only supposition on my part, I don't actually know 100%.

This is the 390XP being offered on Husky's US website. 20" X-Force on the 390XP.

That 572 with the big dual dogs, full wrap and only 20" bar is silly.
Need minimal 28".
I run a 20" Stihl Light on my 14.56 lb 066 hybrid with no dogs and a half wrap. (Same weight as a 572)

She rips limbing and blocking up hardwood and pine.

Looks like no replaceable nose! Wonder what that bar costs! Sure like the saw tho!

Fellas, that's not the bar. I get these saws PHO and that hard nose bar that's on the saw was the only new bar I had that would match the new saw.

I threw that bar on just for pics, so everyone could see the wrap and big dogs. No silliness here, just trying to show folks what's coming up from Husky.

EDIT: this saw is headed to a logger in WV and will be ran with the bar of his choice. He asked for the saw PHO and with a full wrap, big dogs....I said cool, I'll get it for you.

At least you showed us a 572 in the 572 thread.

I magine a guy can pick and choose what bar and chain! Thank you!

Yes, and I do have to say this appears to be very comfy with big bars. I ordered a 28" Tsumura, so I may throw that one on and get some pics when it arrives.

It'll give a better idea of what it looks like with a bigger bar.

Lol. This ain't the new 066 thread? ;) That's the same bar we were discussing the other day. It came on the 371XP.

What a strange idea huh?

I can color in the lines....sometimes. Lol. :)
