I'm not a big fan of stihl Saws they cut too slow . I own 2 now a mmws 044 and a very minty 064 mmws

Lots other great 60cc saws . I have a 555 and really like it .

How can a ported 346 be in the 60cc class ? , sure might cut like one but not a 60cc saw .

I backed into a 262. So now I understand what the fuss is about. .020 of squish and that's the only mod. Swings 20" of 3/8 square ground chisel buried eastern oak with no problem. But it's a twenty year old saw. Someone offers me enough and it goes down the road and I'll buy a brand new 60cc saw.

I have a 562. I prefer my 262.

16" 3/8 on a 346 in hardwood here. 60-65cc 16-20, 20-24 71cc for me.
Heres how I do it. The last number being my preferred bar length for each size saw.
50cc - 14-20". 16"
60cc - 18-24". 20"
70cc - 20-28". 24"
80cc - 24-32". 28"
90cc - 28-42. 36"

Of course I cut wood with my saws. I don't really do cant races and cookie cutting (often). Not that there's anything wrong with that, I'd just rather be out in the woods cutting.

looks like this will be a landslide for Husq.

Amazing how many people around here love Stihls, and won't even try a Husqvarna. They brag about their 'Farm Bosses'. Lol

i tried one husq- the 288... and sold the Stihls. I really tried to give Stihl another shot this past year, but I can't get back into them. vibes suck, filtration sucks, lack of online parts suck, ergonomics suck. No thanks.

I also like the 026, 261, 036, and 661 saws that I own/owned. I typically prefer the Husqvarnas to the Stihls in every class, though.

I got a real nice 440 on trade, and Randy is building me a hybrid. I'll see how I like that one.
