462 muffler gasket Help

Hi all

i need help to get the serial number of the gasket at the front which covers the 2 pieces of the muffler
Yes i m talking about that thin piece.
Sadly in the official diagram the picture is backwards and cannot paint it. Also no reference in the good old GREY Stihl programm.

Any leads?

By the way I didn't know where to post this so if i m on the wrong seat please send it wherever it belongs

You know I’ve had 2 of those saws, one I bought new, and neither have had that gasket.

Correct we don't have those. But they seem better looking though!

By the way a question came up

are those screens removeable? Can you modify and put it back?

Yes you can just bend the tab up. I opened up the outlet and then put the screen back in.

thats nice unfortunately i don't have the screen option so i just modded mine leaving a hole. I wonder why they still play with minor difference while the rules in effect are now stricter in Europe than EPA...

well i am glad i am not the only one that can not draw a straight line or even a crooked one.sorry i can not help with the gasket.back to the top.

There is no gasket between the muffler halves on the MS 462. The MS 500i has a gasket there.

I think it’s more of a US and Canadian forestry thing than epa.

It is a spark arrestor screen meant to stop sparks from escaping the muffler and starting fires. Picked up a 462 today in Sweden and no gasket.
