I was curious how much a muffler mod will do for these saws. I've read they come stock with a more aggressive muffler already. The porters aren't making as many gains with these as they were older saws.

A muffler mod gives them a little more ass..if a guy is gonna run a 20-25" bar I'd give it a muffler mod and leave it alone.

I had one ported to pull 28"..I think it was worth it for that bar.

Interesting. Most of the reason I got the R model was the oiler. Didn’t know was the same.

The dual dogs and 3/4 wrap can be annoying at times. They do look cool, but just add weight.

I like having dual dogs for bucking, and I'll bet a lot of folks will trade handles with you (but I'm not one of them).

I prefer to be able to flush cut stumps in the yard, and have a slimmer saw.

I’ve got a 3/4 wrap on the way from Dan and when it shows up I can send you the half wrap that I’m taking off if you want it, I’ll never use it. And if you’re looking to sell your handle after that I’ll buy it, guys are itching to get them here as we have to use them and they’re still not available yet.
