This is a first for me, I put my crankcase together and bolted down the cylinder and it's a head slapper. Then I tried another cylinder that hasn't been cut and it's also a head slapper, even with a gasket. What do y'all think?

It has to be the case, I can't think of any other reason.

Looks like it's the case based on the quick search through fleabay.

I'm just going to make a thick aluminum gasket to get the cylinder up where it needs to be.

Why not cut the squish band and get the compression?
I've already cut .040 out of the squish band and I don't want to raise the compression anymore, I used different case when I was setting the squish.

All is good, I made a .060 aluminum gasket, it's a little thick but it's all I had, and I'll take a little off the base and get the squish right. Squish is .046 with the .060 gasket.

There’s an .034-.040 paper OEM gasket for the 044. It’s green. Came on the saws sold in areas of the world where the fuel is bad to intentionally lower compression.

I use it on hybrid builds with 272 slugs.

It does look like your case was decked, hopefully properly.

Thanks for the info, It looks like around .045 was taken off the case and I made a spacer out of some aluminum.
