wasnt towards you matt i was just pointing out new piston /cylinder kit conversion kit and bearings and seals be about 300 bucks but i say rebuild it
Yes if you refer back to my earlier imaginary invoice, you will note that I allowed $250-300 for the parts you mentioned plus gaskets with bearings ,seals and gaskets being sourced from the house of hu flung dung, with p and c being OEM and since I only had a link for after market conv. kit $60 that is what I included in my earlier estimate, your desire for OEM conv.kit may add to the total, with same being said for other items previously listed... Thanks for shopping Matt Mart

I traded Strapon a good used 394 cylinder for 2 carbs. When I got the carbs, one was new AM, one was used oem. Neither had gaskets or diaphragms

Shhh, you shouldn't have said that in here their liable to riot, this has been a somewhat contentious thread, due to Dallas being on his period and Mattyo trying to take over the world one saw at a time! Nobody gets out alive....

Morning gents, a lot of good stuff flying around here, I just got caught up here.

Yall are making it difficult to make a decision on this thing.

If I went with an am p and c that would give me plenty of room for french-ups

I thought oem bearings were cheap.

If I was gonna turn this into a work saw I would absolutely go with an oem p and c. But now I'm not sure. If I rebuild It with a good oem bottom end and China top parts then I can experiment with it and when I'm ready I'll find a good oem p and c.

I'm not worried about the money necessarily but it would be nice to know I could make most of my money back if I had to.....

Also @beaglebriar I absolutely appreciate the offer but if it does get rebuilt it will be my first case split so I would like to do it for experience purposes.

If you do an AM P&C ...its ONLY available as 395 style...therefore you'd need the adapter kit $60. so, I dunno if going AM for the P&C would save you much money anyway

plenty of guys here are willing to help @beaglebriar @Stump Shot know more about huskies than i do but for the extra on the piston cylinder kit id go with the oem it will help if you ever have it ported or for resale

One thing I haven't even looked at is the big end rod bearing.....

If it's toast like the mains then I'm absolutely done
