372xt carb on 390xp?

I measured up a 296 that I have laying around and it looks like it would be an extremely tight fit in the 372. It's about a 1/4" longer than the HD 12.

Largest ain't always best.

The XT carb can be weird at idle and off idle.

Hey Keith Pull the cover off my xpw and see if it matches your 390. The carb on my 372 is a rwj4

Stock carb. I never swapped them back then.

I swapped it this last week.also put a hda199 on my 346.

Mike i dont have a clue and just went with the wj since u said it was a bigger bore. I hear the tillys diaphragm nipple last longer?

I've never got to run that tilly on a ported 64/66. Just wonder if it's like the tilly on the 390 over the walbro.

Not and keep a choke. I do have a zama I'm going to try on mine today or tomorrow. Same style mods as the 7900 zama.

Not at all with a little squirt of fuel. Matt's 7900 has no choke. Usually 2 pulls and it's off with a little dribble.
