So my dad has had tbis saw basically since new. His brother bought it back in the early 90's and cut about two tree's then moved to Nashville and when he did he gave it to my pops. This thing has seen thousands of board feet of timber. It milled 50 foot poplar logs for my sisters log house, felled basically every tree in that house, cut the notches etc. Then continued to cut 12-15 ricks of firewood a year. Around 2010 it seized. Just locked up tight. My dads not a mechanic by any means, he can adjust a carb but he didnt try to pull it down. He gave it to me over the weekend to see what i can do with it. Im on a budget right now but would like to get it running again for him since the brother who gave it to him just passed away a couple months ago. So here are the initial pictures. This thing has been sitting in the rafters of a blacksmith shop with a coal forge for ten years hence the layer of pure black. 20210417_213326.jpg 20210417_213426.jpg

Piston and cylinder. I'm thinking new P&C, new crank seals to be safe. New impulse and fuel lines, open up and clean the carb and see what itll do. Probably gonna go ahead and do a base gasket delete, muffler mod and bump the timing while Im in it 20210418_085655.jpg 20210418_085710.jpg 20210418_085620.jpg

That saw will clean up nice. Make sure to vacuum check case and seals. If it was mine and it's not, I would change case bearings while you have it torn down. New SKF or similar 6202-c3 bearings can be purchased for $15 and gasket seal kit for around $10.
