Clean the filter! I like to tap it out first, the use the compressor to blow the rest out. You may notice a difference in performance.

Only mod to this saw is I enlarged the exhaust hole and cleane up castings when I had saw apart.... someone used a flathead screwdriver as a piston stop, so I had to atleast grind that out LOL.... saw runs damn good.....
Do you se the resemblance in the top pic you posted? This looks like the showroom version of that saw. How many real men do you se with these besides the dintymoore soup ad LumberjacksScreenshot_2016-12-14-18-46-31.pngand it looks like it's sitting stihl lol

That's the thing with it. Should you need a tool to get to a filter to tap it out.

I like that the 440/460s are easier to get to the filter, but I like that the filter in the 362-C stays clean for so much longer. 6 a one, half dozen of the other. I always have a bar wrench, with the screw driver, close by.

Guys dont get me wrong I would use a 36toof more often if I had one for cheep.
But I also like the older saws. The 661 is a bad azz saw stock and a different animal modded. The 461 is alright too. But I'm not a fan of the 362. I think they are heavy for what they are.

Same weight as a 562 or 262, yet you never hear that about them!!!

Its not the actual weight really , i think its just how it feels.

I cant tell the difference from a 440 but i dont pay attention to what saws weigh so my opinion isnt very solid in that dept.

What do you guys pay for your 362s from your dealers ?

My price is 630.00 cash money for this next one.

Im gonna swap some parts from a 461R oil pump into mine before i even fuel it , i like when they gush oil plus i like to run long bars on them sometimes for reach..well worth it IMO for the 30 bucks in parts.

That is a good price, most dealers around me will not deal. And only sail for retail prices. I would have to drive 3 hours (one way) in towards Denver to find a dealer that will dicker off of retail prices....

My 362 R CM was $789 plus tax (IIRC) January 2014.

It was my 1st stihl, and my 1st pro saw. Before that I had home depot throw aways for firewood. At the time I bought it, I thought it was really something and would be the only saw I ever needed for firewood....for years to come.

Then I went into the chainsaw section on AS, starting reading and watching videos from @Mastermind, and other saw builders. Next thing you know, I had a mastermind 441c on my door step, then a, MM261c, then a MM362c, MM661C, MM461R, and others.....

If I could only go back to my one stock saw plan, LOL

Randy ruined me for life.

Your story is so funny, and so very true!!

I see you have a 461R, I just have the regular 461 and I love it..... what do you think of yours???

I can see what people mean when they say the 362 looks bulky.... it's the damn top cover IMO....I have used the saw in many 4-8 hour stints and the weight has never been a factor for me....I will say it feels good in my hands..

I will add that when I first started using the tree-six-deuce, the spring AV felt soft to me.... however after using the saw for hours now, it feels perfectly natural in my hands...

Please remember one if my first saws was a craftsman with the manual oiler and 20" bar.... damn thing felt like a rock with a bar in it..... and there was no give in her AV department......it came from Florida and had been flooded with salt water.... I guess it was my first actual "rebuild"!!!.
#moving-on-up.....
