Nice job Matt. I noticed that you did a mild port job, but didn't do anything with timing. Is this basically a stock saw?

mild port job? what do you consider a wild port job? :)

I didn't advance the flywheel ... but the cylinder is fully worked over ...muff modded too.

I said MILD, not wild. Lol. Looks like you just smoothed things out a little around the ports.

no... not just smoothed. ...I ground everything. timing was adjusted significantly, ports widened, transfers opened at the bottom ... etc. was quite a bit of grinding.

the upper transfers I do in the dental office w/ diamonds. not the most ideal tool for it, but it does work

Editing vids is crazy. ....takes a long long time. I don't even watch the vids myself so I have no idea how they come out lol.

Btw. ...figured something out on the mill. Gotta take the bark off...the run the hose at high pressure at the blade while cutting though the outside of the log. ....my blades are staying sharper longer.

Sup dan?

Nice thread Matt.

I do crankcase&crank a bit different on those saws who has seal in PTO bearing.
I mount PTO bearing on crank first and place it in the freezer, heating up the case half to about 130° celsius, it slide straight down with those temperature diffences.
Dumping the whole thing a few minute in freezer again to help cooling fast down again.
Doing gasket and all those things on PTO side.
Flywheel side is 200° celsius, it's the temperature I feel I can reach to mount bearing and have enough heat transfered to the bearing for sliding everything together without torquing it together with screws.

This is what have worked best out for me, it doesnt need to be the best way for others

Yep...lots of ways to do it. Best to have the proper tools though no question.
