I also straighten, regroove, and profile all bars. From 8 inch carving bars to 8 foot slasher bars.
.43 to .122. Doesn't matter.

Hey Mike,
So glad to hear from you. That's the 346 you did a long time ago. Still looks new.
I wanted to run the 440 you did, with .325, but was worried about the response. Plus it wouldn't be fair. That is by far my favorite saw ( the440). Thanks again for all your help, you should be getting the 046 soon. After Christmas. Tight rite now.

Sharpen some more chain with the mystery sharpener and feed the CAD addiction. Lol

Your Welcome glad you still liking them. I don't know much about square chain but it looks good to me.

Send it. I'll evaluate the bar. Call before any work is done. Depends on work to be done

Re-grooved the bar instead of spinning a new loop of .050???

Is re-grooving that easy??

Easy now. I wanted to run the same chain on two saws. A 346 and a 290. Just to see if it would pull. Read earlier post, a 290 will pull square just fine.
The 290 had .325 .063 chain. I wanted to run used, not new or newsed chain. Reground square. See pictures.
Now. I try not to run .050 in a .063 gauge bar. It can be done tho. Being the gauge of the bar I s wider, but it could roll and not perform.

There's several options, could have welded the bar for the stihl and reground to .050. Could have ran the stihl bar on the Husqvarna, but that would involved milling an adapter plate.
I tried to give what was ask for with what I had to work with.
Read the post and you will see what a jam I was in.
Could you have done what I did? If so. Let's see the videos .

It's great to be with family, true family will sacrifice a lot. After getting the saw ready. I had to do a country boil. And was it good.
