Just to share. Sort of pisses me off one of the local dealers treated him like this. aka took advantage of IMHO.

Took his 3120 to dealer. Told him pulling 130psi so put a new topend on it. Bet was just needing reringed.

Coil wire had been chaffed cut and told him needed new coil. So they put a coil in it. Dont these the plug wire screws out to replace.

New carb installed too instead of rebuild.

Then to beat all they put the wrong coil and he couldnt pull it over to get started. He sent it to Rich Dougan to fix it. Said ran 3 months and back to original issue.

I got saw today and fixed in little over hour. SMH

What's the name of this shop? I'd turn them in to the BBB.

Not that extreme that guy spent alot on that saw
But my local shop
Won't hardly fix anything they want them to buy new.
I've fixed dozens of saw's and trimmers
Usually just fuel line and carb issue's.
They won't even tell them what's wrong with them.

He got the old carb. But didnt say anything about the old cylinder piston and coil.

Also see the same thing dealers here tell them to buy a new saw. Then I fix the saw they wanted fixed for $75. Including labor.

This is the same dealer I learned early on to avoid. I wanted a set of 394 rings. I even had the part number of rings I wanted. He wanted to know what year of 394. Told him just use my part number. He insisted on year. I said alright it is not for a 394 it is for a dolmar 166. I smiled, he looked puzzled and I walked out and never went back.
Went to another local dealer on other side of me 50mins drive from his place and got my freaking 394 rings. ;)

Very happy ending for owner after fixing up his 3120.

Has been used with the 60" since fixing last week. All good.

Owner with the 44" pic and the skidder op with 60" pic.
