Finally went to put it together today and discovered I need a piston and ring. I thought I had checked them and found to be ok.

In case anyone has stuffs around:

stop switch
muffler deflector
Worm
Outer dog
Fuel tank/line (couldn’t make 181 line fit 288 tank properly, leaks)
Ignition wires (I need to make a post about that, I have a bunch of saw needing wires)

I just spent $107 with @Gentleman

Got piston, rings, worm, outer dog, some 395 stuff, etc.

Still need muffler deflector ( I wasn't gonna pay $25) and switch, guess it's the early big one. Meantime I'll work on adapting it.

I'll check this weekend and see if the switches in my bin are what you're looking for.

I've welded some cases smaller because they were wallowed.... helps fit the newer momentary switch :)
I would but I don’t wanna tear it all apart again and I’m worried about heat transfer.
On second thought, maybe I will when the new piston comes in.

The slot in my case is 1.250/31.75mm wide. My good 266 case is 1.150"/29.21mm wide.

Both of mine are the same size, looks to be right around 30mm-30.5mm

I'm trying to upload a photo but my connection is poor right now. I'll keep trying throughout the day, but morning is most likely for success.

Okay, I'll check. Still need a fuel tank?
Eh…Mine seems to be functional but ugly and the fuel line hole is messed up. Reminds me, I got the op pres lever and forgot to get the spring for it.

The saw has a weird look, half nice parts (top cover and clutch cover) and half ugly (starter and tank) but I’m not sure how much $ I want to throw at looks. I have considered painting the whole saw green like the European military saws, in which case I’d need more ugly parts to paint vs. my nice ones…

Side note: I ended up with 4 spring AV mounts and two rubber at the front. I like a soft, non vibing setup…would two more springs be the way to go? Haven’t run it much yet.

I'll check this evening or in the morning and see what I have. I know one of the fuel lines has a tear at the connector, so it's probably useless.

Springs are always better than mounts, imo, but can you swap them?

One of the recoil covers should be in pretty decent shape. I'd be willing to make a deal on the whole lot, or just the 181 and associated parts. I'm trying to move stuff along.

The 181 muffler is likely spoken for, but not sure about the whole assembly.

Do you have any 266 gasket kits or seals? Clutches/springs?

@HumBurner interested in ignition parts, any and all good wires. Fuel line, oil pump and related parts - worms and sealing washer. Clutch cover and the starter in the middle.

I don't think I have any extra 266 gaskets, etc. I have enough to build one last saw on that chassis. I do have some extra cases and tanks, etc.

Yes, springs and rubber mounts interchange.
