How do they compare to a 254xp or 372xp. They are the only Huskies I have had dealings with lately. I imagine they have a bit of torque?

Not as smooth or powerful as a 372 if memory serves but still damn good running saw's.
Can't remember how a 254 runs but a 266 outshines my 257.
Somebody on here probably has more experience with the 2 series and can explain the difference
I like any of them especially after working on modern saws lol

My favoite series of saws ro work ok and run. Im a young old school kinda guy. Im only 34 but much prefer older classic type everything saws cars bikes skis boats. The 266 was a sporty kinda saw in its day much like my jonny 670 or even the 630 as sporty feel. Id have grabbed that one right up if it was available. Hope you got it on the way to you.

There OK...of there time ... parts over here are not that wide spread now. 200 group you are talking of (254 xp being one ) are a step up in power to weight ratio and ergonomics. I would go 262 xp ( IF ! you can find one worth having ) in the older saws in preference to a 266 se ...even the later XP with the bigger carb. The 372 you mention is a better saw for near the same CC and the AV is far more user friendly. The 262xp has spring AV by the way so is a bit more like a modern set up.
