Hello all, thanks in advance for what I expect to be a wealth of knowledge. First off I'm not a power equipment expert, I can change chains and do general maintenance and that's the extent I play with them. I was given a 266se full wrap aluminum flag that my uncle got from a guy who dropped a tree on it and busted up the cover into 3-4 pieces, our local welding guru wasn't comfortable welding it up as it didn't seem to puddle for him the way he's used to so aftermarket seems to be the way I'm headed. My question is this, will the plastic flag setup work on these? Bailey's shows a complete unit for $125 but if it's not a bolt on replacement I just wasted that money. Most of what I read it'll work except one guy who said it'll melt the flag so that's got me nervous. I'd like to get it running for a mid range saw when I don't feel like lugging the 372 around. It runs good, really snappy with no bar on, just obnoxiously loud. Compression is 30-35 psi over what I've read is the minimum. I've got a new 20" Carlton bar and a new chain to go on it. Even if somebody has just the cover they'd be interested in selling I've got the guts of the old one still. Thanks again.
