original spikes are like that. The outer one sticks out just a little bit farther than the inner one.
Did you check that you installed the little rubber ring (# 501 62 43 01) on your oil pump?Well it pissed all the bar oil out where the tank connects to the oil pump. I checked everything and can't see anything out of sorts. The rubber oil hose looks to be fine. Took everything out,.cleaned and reassembled.
Also, I replaced the clutch spring. I was able to put it together by hand. Should it be that easy?
The rivets on the bar tip are stubborn but I'm gonna just use a bigger hammer...
some I can put together piece by piece, can't remember if that was for 242 and 262 clutches.Yes I do have that little rubber piece. The clutch is baffling me. It appears everything is all there amd fits in the drum fine too. But it just went together too easy. There's the 3 shoes, spring and retainer piece correct? I'll take some pics when I get home
that's what I'm thinking about also.Is there a Crack in the oil pump?
If it isnt the pump....it's got to be the rubber bits.
my JRed 2253WH came with winter kit.Now I'm on the look for the winter cover! Just when I thought I had everything for a 262.
That looks normal to me and the same as my 262. If you want to tighten the spring it is ..Just..pos to snip off the hook on 1 end and open out the spring to make another hook.It appeared the oil was leaking where the pump meets the rubber hose going into the tank. That's the only spot that dripped oil besides outlet at the bar plate.
Here's some pics of the clutch. It looks fine in appearance and function. I have not tried it running a bar and chain. The original and new spring are both the same length. I can put it together and take it apart by hand with both springs.
