So will it be undercarbbed? Shall I source a replacement?

Hmm HDA 35b carb. Can't say I've seen or heard of this carb in a 262
HDA 35B was used on 254 from 1988 up to 2001, before 1986-88 it was HDA 35A on 254. It has a smaller venturi compared to the 262 carb HDA 120 who was used on most of those 262's with Mahle jug, HDA 120 was also used on 257 and 261, HDA 144 was maybe used on the last 262, even I have not seen it on 262 IPL's.
HDA 87 is even bigger, bigger butterfly, bigger venturi, it also have a bigger inlet gasket 503 54 44 01 to fit with the bigger butterfly, most HDA 87 came with KS jug.

So will it be undercarbbed? Shall I source a replacement?
yes, 35B will not provide 262 with air/fuel as it deserve, neither do it do for 254, there is a boost for 254 to dump an 120 or 144 on

Yeah, I can help you out with a carb
Please send me on PM with shipping info and I ship over one HDA 87 for you with one 503 54 44 01 gasket also.
Carb has OEM repair kit installed, you need to preasure test it though.

It's going to one good cause!

Somehow I missed that in the original photos. So this is a transition year saw and a very nice one at that! There were a number of significant changes in the 93-94 time frame (air injection, decomp, clutch driven pump).

Speaking of the pump, if it were my saw, I would convert it as it only takes having to removed the gear from the crankshaft and replace it with the plastic gear as well as a new clutch rim. Then it won't puke oil always when it is running at idle. I don't have any clutch rims but I can supply a plastic gear if you need.

That's a good idea. How is the gear removed? Is it pressed on?
