Any tricks to get this rubber AV mount out on the tank? It's broke, I see no bolt holding anything together from the other side??? image.jpeg

There should be a removable screw at the other end of that spring. Remove it and 'roll' the crankcase off the tank, PTO side toward the flywheel side. That AV mount is just a nub that goes in the hole.

Those rubber mounts are specific to this saw as well i think, but guys smarter than me pointed out that the rubber mount in the same spot on 257s works nicely when trimmed to length.

You may have to use some good needle nose pliers to hold on to the remnants of that rubber mount to get it to keep from just spinning.

I took it off, but could not find a Allan head in their from the other side. Swapped the upper mounts to the rubber ones. I wanted to try the feel of the rubber so I put it back together lol I'll pull it back apart. image.png

I prefer the runber mounts, springs are a little floppy for me. Theres gotta be a screw in behind that rbber mount. Did you get all of the rubber out?

I believe the proper name for it is an 'absorber'. I ordered one from the dealer. It was on back order and took about 2-3 weeks to get to me.

Figured this could help if you can find one online

I was thinking the absorber had a screw holding it in. It didn't, just a tight fit. I took a mount from a 288 put it in a vise cut to length, and had to grind just a little off of the rubber. Fits in great and what a difference! If you've got a 262 check it! The only reason I found it was because I was going from spring to rubber

Take the handle off also. No point fighting it.
Sorry I posted a misleading pic and made it look like I was trying to get it out with the tank still installed. You guys thought I was that guy. I'm not that guy. Lol
