Whomever I bought one of these from (a zillion years ago) pulled a fast one on me. The intake elbow is broken, and the slug not great.

The intake elbow should be able to be plastic welded.

Tunnel mystery solved. They machined the wide tunnels on the early decomp jugs. In the decomps, they cast it in on both sides. So the lowers are restricted.

I didn’t grind the fly side outer on the decomp jug. The prior owner must have.

There is enough meat to fix it inside.

Both carbs converted. The 199 vs 198 is an extra special Pita cause of the Acc pump. I tried to maintain it. Gotta get pics in order.

It helps to mark your plates and have an intact carb to look at. I actually bought 87 butterflies years ago, not needed I bent a butterfly taking it out. out
