Thats almost a perfectly good hose clamp by the jug holding that thing on.

Evidently real chainsaw users dog in with the pipe.
The hose clamp is throwing me for a loop. Haha. Get it? A loop!

Seriously, why the hose clamp? What was its purpose on this build? We may never know.....

As filthy as that saw is, I bet it will clean up well and with a few parts be a real decent runner. That saw would be lucky to have 20hrs run time in wood. The bar on it is quite an old Stihl bar with the old logo, I bet its got a grease hole too.

Loop scavenging. It’s really important in a high performance 2-stroke. All the fast guys are doing it. This guy’s obviously way ahead of his time, probably an EGT probe in there somewhere.

I assume the self tapping screw right at the outlet was used to crimp and fine tune the flow/restriction of the muffler? You know, for performance and stuffs. One second it’s a solid work saw, the other it’s a full blown dragster and we’re off to the races.
