I just got back my very first husqy it's a 181se that was at a junkyard outside for at least 4 years they gave it to me. The Chain was so rusted to the bar I had to cut it off the saw. It was locked up I mystery oiled the piss out of it drained water out of the gas tank and went back to what I was doing. The next day I got it unlocked easy with a 19 mm wrench on the clutch and let it sit in the sun for about an hour to let the remaining water evaporate. I put some gas in it and it started on the 3rd pull not ##iting I was so amazed. And what a great introduction to the world of husqys. My old man's 028 wood boss had nothing on this beast

Well enough about that lets get into y I made this thread my budie blew it up big end rod/crank bearings bad. It's got a cylinder marked sk 004 ++ 2B is this factory an sk cylinder as it's still in good shape as it the piston don't know how but it's and it's a 2 thin ring piston

Edit
I was reading the cylinder wrong it's ks not sk and know its original equipment now as I've read a lot of stuff on here about 262xp 288xp

I'm not sure yet depends on price of parts really cause all the plastics are fubar it was ugly as $h!+ when I got it 8-9 years ago the handle is all broke it's wicked faded got a281 or 288 starter but it's all there including a metal flag working chainbreak the adjustment even works
All the factory threads are good for the top cover and everything for that matter and someone All ready did a muffler mod before I got it the deflector isn't factory

I've tried sanding with 2500 grit and it made a slight improvement in the color but it didn't get staining out. After sanding I buffed it with Mothers polishing compound then buffed again with Mothers Billet compound. These compounds are made for metal polishing but they function as an oxidation remover on plastic. Brought back a small amount of shine but still wasn't any where near the new looks. I'm going to try a heat gun on some plastics I have laying around, I've heard guys have some success using heat.

Oh and I used a drill with the polishing compounds. The small amount of heat generated helped bring a little shine out of the plastic.
