10 mm 044 ish

Plan as of now,

.010-20 ish off base, just enough to set squish/clean up the band.

Not sure where the numbers are, but don't plan on straying too far from them just a bit of clean up etc.

Open up the muffler, got a dual port cover for it as well.

I'll order a oem boot/10mm piston/bearing as well.

Curious to see how well a big squeal runs..

Sounds like a real solid plan Joe. I don't think you can lose.
What condition is the carb in? I'm kinda thinking that after all that work and all those new parts maybe put a carb kit in it just to be safe.

My 044 hybrid is running a Zama c3m.
IIRC the walbro carb was a HD-16

Personally I've only ever seen these carbs on a 044. I'm not sure if there was other options

The walbro HD-17 from a 046 is a direct fit. I don't know for sure if it would be a better option or not

What are you wondering? That is one of the early KS 10mm jugs. They went up to 5 or 6 + signs as they made minor changes through its production

I guess if this was one of the better jugs? Not that it really matters.

Thought I heard the KS jugs were more desirable for some reason.

Yes. The earlier the better is my understanding. One + sign is early. She'll run just fine. Prolly cut circles around a measly 372

I just compared a one plus ks to a six plus mahle and they are both dead on with the exhaust and transfer timing. The mahle is one degree higher at the intake floor. The ks is one millimeter wider at the exhaust. the ks has more bevel at the transfer where the mahle has more bevel at the exhaust.

12 88 is most likely when made dec 1988 , 1 a is "A" fit piston maybe ? Some pistons have an A or a B on them

41.50 for a oe 10mm piston kit.

After the fella tried handing me a lrb am piston. I politely asked him to Chek the part nuber I handed him, pretty sure it is still a valid part.

What ya know it was. With prices like that why even bother with aftermarket??

The 046 may have a size bigger or so jet

10 or 12 mm crank(12mm case damaged/10mm case leaks at bearing pocket.

Cover with "character"

O46/460 cylinder to mock up a hybrid. Chamber and base cut on the one on the left. Some one else polished the intake and exhaust.

Will these work?
