G'day all, got an 084 which failed a pressure/vac test, anyway, found the clutch side seal was broken and had signs of the oil pump wheel rubbing on it, anyone seen this before?

I've never seen that before- there's a "cover' which the outer lip of that oil pump drive gear rides in (and keeps it set at the right depth)- maybe it was missing or worn down?

Thanks Jacob, there's nothing else.
It was clutch then large washer cover then oil pump wheel then seal.

13 bucks small seal 18 for big seal 5 bucks flywheel bearing. 40 bucks clutch side bearing( I got heaps of them both). Rings, get them from the Greek. Impulse and fuel lines can be normal hose or molded ones would roughly 20 each. 25 for carby kit and intake boot at a guess 60 from Stihl.
I might even have a spare set of rings. And case gasket 5 bucks. I can show you the invoice [emoji6]

Yeah, it looks like you're missing part #1 in Vince's diagram. That cover keeps the worm gear at the appropriate level.

Which dealer Andy?
G'day Sandy, from Cannings, Melbourne.

Can get slightly cheaper elsewhere but they get stuff quick and knock off 10% which almost helps :)

Only really insane from Cannings mate. They're a dam good business but, they have big overheads, staff etc and need to make a profit. Alot of people in the arborculture industry in melbourne use Cannings because they're quick but curse them behind their back for being so bloody expensive! Alpine mowers in Monbulk or Stihl Ferntree gully are great to deal with and not silly expensive. If you ever need O.E.M stihl parts let me know, i buy a metric ton and get a good dicount.

So they selling you a piston with those rings ? Can't see any other reason to be so much.
