066/660 Big Bore - can it be great?

One thing that hasnt been brought up... Generally the bb cylinders of any kind are as Dave mentioned copied from the stock castings and simply bored larger.
The bore gets pushed out into the transfers and so reduces their cross sectional area.

It's hard to recover that with only grinding, welding them up wider can be an option but typically the flywheel and/or case then needs to be cleared.

That's the problem with the 77cc BB jug for a 365/372 Husky. It takes a fair bit of work to the lower part of the jug and the piston to get the BB jug to flow properly. Most of the transfer flow occurs just before BDC and with the piston at BDC there isn't much space left for transfer flow.

I've run that Smittybilt hybrid (660/056) and it is an animal. It certainly gets your attention!

I remember seeing Bret cut some Black Locust with it at the upstate NY GTG a few years back, and the chips were going about 30 feet behind him.
