Stihl dealers are all mean as hell.
Take a two hour computer class and then your the best friggin saw technician the world's ever seen right?!

Oh and I guess I left out the yearly motel lobby seminars where they get free Stihl candy.

I know you're messing around with another member but I'm not going to ignore the bad practices just because a few good members are Stihl dealers and might get butthurt. Maybe they should smack some heads around for giving their business a bad name.

Thanks for the tip. Now I can go in there with the part #'s and watch " their head spin". [emoji106]

Just don't do what I did and go in with the number and they gave me a different one. It was a kid working and I got pissed and told him I wanted the right part. Well I seen the owner on the way out and I was heated. We know each other by name because of the amount of business I do with them and I let him have it.

Well I felt like a real ass when I found out that this was an updated part number and the kid was right. I swore I was going to apologize the next time I seen him in there. Well never did see the kid in there again. I felt about 2 inches tall for being a real McAsshole!

The Stihl dealer ordered me a part and the wrong one showed up. They then discovered the part is nla and got mad at me for wanting to refund my money and told me not to come back.

I can see why you ain't fond of your local dealer. No doubt.

Right off the top of my head......there are three dealers that are members here, and they are all good dealers, and good people in general.

The guy up the road in Jamestown, well......he ain't worth two squirts of warm goat piss as a dealer. The place in Crossville ain't much better. There is a damn fine dealer in Cookeville though. Top notch.

It's like everything else my friend, there are good and bad in every line of work.

My dealor told me that if I'm working on loggers saws instead of them that they won't sell me parts or work on any of the loggers saws that I have worked on.

Taking there business I guess.
It got very loud in there for a little bit, I by nothing from them and neither do most loggers. I get everybody's parts off ebay.

I live in logging country, everyone is a logger and if I can fix your blew up saw for 50 or 100$ instead of 300 to 500+
Word spreads pretty fast and they loose a lot of business.

For a long time I've made a point to take everything I can from that prick and he might sell a few saws but he ain't gonna sell them any parts or repairs.

There are three Husqvarna dealers in my area who sell me every part I ask for. They enjoy shooting the bull about saws and even enjoy our videos on YouTube. They know I am building a chainsaw business and they don't show anything other than genuine support for me. Every single Stihl dealer has given me the exact story you just told.

I have a saw shop, not a weed Wacker or leaf blower shop,I only work on saws and when the man earning a living with his saw comes through my door his saw will be fixed before anything else and that's why I'm behind and busy year round.

I drive by a Stihl dealer that is 1.4 miles from my house to go across town to the real Stihl Dealer.

There is 1 Husky dealer in town, and it's like pulling Teeth to get anything out of them.

There is a Husky/ ECHO dealer in the next town that seems ok: I haven't done much business with them yet.

When I inquired about the PPT-280, they him hawed around and said the PPT-266 would do everything I needed done.

So I ordered a new PPT-280 from the ECHO/Stihl dealer just across the AL line.

He said he had a PPT-266, but would order whatever I want: I'm waiting on the call to come pick the 280.
