My next hybrid is gunna have a 272 piston. Taller crown, shorter skirts, and single ring.

The short skirt will help with the intake duration. But it's about .1 taller than a 46 piston, so it will take some machining to make it right

It will have no choice but to be faster with a Husky part in it. :D

I was thinking of messing with a husky 181 thin ring piston

I double checked the 181 and it wont work.

Im liking the look of that 272 piston.
take some off the top and turn it to a bit of a popup.
take material off the band to make it fit without needing to lower the jug, the shorter skirt will give me more intake.

Hmmmm, might order one to mess with

Looking closer at the cylinder, it seems some putz has had a crack at "porting" and raised the intake roof a bit with a file.

Well that rules out a husky piston.
Will just stick with a meteor 46 piston on this one.

FYI, the Meteor 460 piston is a little heavier, but it also had wider skirts than OEM (As measured by Doc Al, who I believe is also planning on building a Hybrid).

How wide are the skirts on the hoosky compared to the 046?

Hey, he did a MS 460 with a D jug that I salvaged (it had transfer on it, and the guy replaced the P&C with AM and sold the saw), and that saw runs VERY STRONG!

I recently bought a Hyway 460 piston and cylinder kit.
It showed up with horrendous ports.
I sent pics to Hyway and they refunded my money..

Today I dug it out and fixed it up and measured port timing.
It ended up at 104/122/78
I also took a tad out of the lower transfers but bugger all really, just smoothed them out.
