The X before the SN is just a mark the factory uses to indicate that the saw was tested. Later saws like the MS series will have an X at the end of the SN.


Serial #12938283 was the switch from 10-12 mm cranks

My 440 Magnum is a 165xxxx serial and the x is before the serial #. I never even noticed the x since buying it new in 1/6/2007. Interesting info. I got out of bed to go check my saw...geeez.

Very nice. I have a 440 and a similar woodstove. The 440 has filled that stove non stop during heating seasons for years. Great combo especially with fuel cost now!
Got rid of glass on my stove door because found flames distracting...and I slammed the door once and a stick of wood came through the glass haha! Replaced glass with metal plate I cut with my torch and it looks factory.

We built this house in "83" and have never used the heating unit. That stove is the third stove and I heat 2400 sq. ft.
