I recently had a similar issue with a air leak on my 066. I pressure/vac tested the saw several times and couldn't find any sign of an air leak. Rotating the crank etc while testing and the saw and it passed every time. @jmssaws suggested I test it while the saw was running with brake clean or wd 40.
What I did was I stripped off all the plastics, air filter, clutch and the oil pump drive gear. Basically I removed everything that wasn't required for the saw to be started and run.
I then started the saw and allowed it warm up for a minute. (No piss reving). With the saw running I used the can of brake clean and sprayed it all around the crank seals, case gasket, intake manifold etc. looking for a leak. I eventually found my leak. In my case the cylinder base gasket was leaking.
I made the necessary repairs and rechecked the saw again with brake clean. All is good now.
