026 muffler mod?

Am thinking of doing a muffler mod on my 026. Its already wide open with a small hole in front of muffler. Its little under 3/8" hole now. How big would you go. Wouldnt mind keepin it stock looking but if i gotta put a little pipe in it i will.

Thats what i wanted to hear. Juat wanna make shure i have enough back pressure.

Also what ya think about advance the timng a little. 20 thow off key mabe.

That's more like it. I went bigger and drilled the holes in the cover bigger
I had done a couple 026's before and went a bit more conservative, I wanted more this time and got it. Along with shaving .020 off the flywheel key, deleting the base gasket, making a gasket out of .008 flashing to get the squish back to a safe number, the saw runs damn good.

Depending on how it's going to be used and how much compression it has but anywhere from 010 to 030.
The saw in the video is advanced 030 but compression isnt super high.

020 should be fine.
