Good morning. My 026 currently has a Walbro WTE 028 carb on it and needs to be replaced. What carbs would be good economical options? I would prefer a fully adjustable carb. Let me know what you think!
Saw has a mm not ported.
Thank you. Frank

From what I’ve read and heard most prefer the wt-194 which is what mine has on it. But someone else may say otherwise so I’d get some more opinions before making a decision

It seems the 194 can get pretty costly. I would have more in the carb than the rest of the saw!

A 194 is $41 delivered on eBay.

The China replacements are cheap, like $10-15 and available at many places inc. @Definitive Dave

The WT194's I've used have been very reliable -- and I've used scores of them. To be fair also, I've used a dozen or so of the ones Dave sells and none have failed so far.
If I had to narrow the choice down to one -- it would be the WT194. I've purchased from Captain Never Sail on Ebay -- never a problem.

I just bought one of he $41 Ebay Walbro 194-1 carbs for my 026 last night. I called a local distributor this morning (out of curiosity) and was priced $119 for the same carb. Big damn difference between $119 and $41. Not sure the reason.

Thanks for the information. I was going off the local prices for the 194 and it was about $120. Maybe I should get one of each and see what works best!
Again thanks for your input. Very helpful.

I have one from Dave. I put it on a stock 026 just to try it out. Works great. Excellent carb for the money.
Really! A new carb for the price of a kit. Some carbs are going to be trashed from ethanol phase seperation, so a kit is often futile anyway...

I believe you need a Walbro WT215 for your saw. The Chinese did make a clone for it as well. I used several and they worked well.
Perhaps someone else can chime in.

Got it! Thanks
