I did get to run it in some wood today, the brother-in-law had some firewood that wasn’t split so I cut it lengthwise in quarters for him.
I’m quite happy with how the saw ran, I didn’t do any full throttle yet except for an occasional stab at it, easily powered through hard wood at up to 3/4...
Good idea with the decomp I never use it on the 361 so if I can round up a blank plug for that saw I’ll swap it into the 466.
I plan on installing Stihl oem wrist pin, bearing, & clips.
Nothing found in my searches so I decided to post up my new saw. I had a G660 many years ago and I’ve wanted to get my hands on a 466,
so this week I saw USA stock on the Farmertec site so I ordered one up. It’s Blue, I really wanted a gray & orange one but none available, and everytime I wait...
I’ve had many 1911’s since 1980, my friend was a gun smith and I was trying to find some Colt mags for a 38 Super back then and having no luck.
He recommended “Metalform” mags to me, he had showed me some oem Colt mags with this small “m” stamped on the bottom and told me that was one of their...
Heavy handed M-fer with the die grinder at that factory should be taken out and shot!
Likely needed a light touch to smooth the transition from the liner to casting,,he made it 10x worse!
The squish area is rather nice though...
or did you already work your magic there?
that exhaust roof is a mess thought least it still has enough chamfer to not hang the ring..
One comment on the 500i is they are unobtainium in my area, went to all the Stihl dealers here (like 5)
they hadn't even had one come in yet "for the first lottery contestant" at their favorite dealer. That was 2
months ago when I went in to purchase a new saw, put my name in que on their...
I just got the 572XP, I haven't had the chance to run it yet. Lost all my pro saws (and home) in the wildfire a couple months ago so along with finding an MS361 for $300 on CL with little use and grabbing this new 572
on the sale I'm back in business to address the burned out trees on my...
Mine too! My first Husky saw (I have a leaf blower...but that don’t count!)
Mounting a 32” Sugi bar on it to tackle the old growth Doug Fir on the property.
Agree. The handle on the 300 in the poster is not a wraparound so not sure if they were changeable to suit the customer.
Otherwise the 600 looks similar and the one in the poster shows a specialized bar of some type.
Gotta borrow a saw because I’m away from home and have to help out the homeowner I’m staying with. Close friend I worked with 10+ years gives me 3 options, a Stihl 029, Homelite & a McCulloch of unknown vintage. Grabbed the Stihl, made short work of the fall limb cutting and brought it back to...
