Nothing found in my searches so I decided to post up my new saw. I had a G660 many years ago and I’ve wanted to get my hands on a 466,
so this week I saw USA stock on the Farmertec site so I ordered one up. It’s Blue, I really wanted a gray & orange one but none available, and everytime I wait on something like that I miss out altogether! It arrived in under 3 days, FedEx from New Jersey, and I quickly checked it out, put the 3/4 wrap on it and the dog, bar & chain. Just as I was fueling it up, the thunderclouds burst forth…so I hope to fire it tomorrow.

I got burned out of my property in Oregon 2 1/2 years ago due to the wildfires, I picked up this saw specifically to leave up in Oregon when I’m again on the property. Probably just have a little storage shed put on the land so if it got broken into and stolen I wouldn’t be out a big money saw (ie: my Husky 572 or the MS361). Unfortunately I have nothing to cut living in the neighborhood here in Florida so maybe next time I’m up on the brother-in-laws property 50 miles away I’ll finally be able to test it in some wood.

So, mostly curious if any forum members have had experience with this saw?

I thought about getting one of these , but someone gave me a Ms460 & 046 projects that i put together.
I will say that a Husqvarna decomp and an OEM Elasto start handle is probably a go to for me with that displacement .

One of my customers has one. Loves it. I got to run it some too. Very strong running saw. It kicks the G372XP Pro clone's butt.

Good idea with the decomp I never use it on the 361 so if I can round up a blank plug for that saw I’ll swap it into the 466.
I plan on installing Stihl oem wrist pin, bearing, & clips.

I did get to run it in some wood today, the brother-in-law had some firewood that wasn’t split so I cut it lengthwise in quarters for him.
I’m quite happy with how the saw ran, I didn’t do any full throttle yet except for an occasional stab at it, easily powered through hard wood at up to 3/4 throttle with a chain that was sharpened by my logger neighbor in Oregon when I was running the 361 in Doug Fir there, so the cutters are quite aggressive.

Had bought a Farmertec cylinder & piston kit when it was on sale a year ago with the intention to port it and save the original that still has very low hours on it.

I’d also gathered some oem Stihl parts to substitute in during the install & a set of Caber rings. The oem items were the decomp, wrist pin, wrist pin bearing & clips.

Straight out I just want to say “Thank You” to some of the incredible “craftsman” porters that posted pics of their work in the topic “Post up your ported cylinder artwork”!
Some of these guys are true “Michelangelos”
with flawless finish and attention to detail, I inspected every photo in the 100 some pages.

Everything for the most part went smooth, and I did a 6 degree timing advance too. I’ve run an hour or so break in and haven’t had a chance to put it into some wood yet. It seems to be very thirsty for fuel, maybe I’ll have a chance soon to cut with it when the brother in law has time at his place.

Tried to keep all the necessary tools on the “low budget” side as this is mostly a one off. The HF Foredom tool was on a Clearance about 7 months ago ( I had a real one and many expensive tools before the wild fire took everything 4 years ago.)
The 90 degree piece I sourced from Fleabay and it has real metal bearings & gears, 1/8” collet worked very well, I think it’s for doing fingernails or something, lol.

Well as I said, many thanks for many fine people on here, here is the results of my efforts.
The first pic is where I measured and sanded .010 off the base, and added a little epoxy to the bottom of the transfer inlets.
